The challenge: complex gate control

Our installation partner in Belgium was tasked with the complex control of the gates at a military airbase, where the gates can be operated remotely via phone calls, SMS, and mobile applications. Additionally, we integrated the local security software using an API, allowing for event-driven operation as well as manual and remote control via phone.

Thanks to the advanced remote monitoring features of the Gate Control device, the system is capable of transmitting real-time status reports and error messages, which is crucial in a high-security environment like this.

 

Ensuring one-way traffic

Another important task was to ensure one-way traffic flow on the road leading to the gate. This was achieved using traffic lights to indicate the direction of vehicle movement. Through the two relays available on the Gate Control’s output, seamless traffic light control was ensured by adding two additional relays connected to the device’s output. A push button and contact were also connected to the Gate Control input, allowing for both electronic and manual control of the system.

 

 

Fault-free operation over thousands of cycles

According to feedback from our partner, since its installation, the Gate Control has operated flawlessly, completing thousands of gate-opening cycles while maintaining maximum availability. This project further demonstrates that the Gate Control device delivers outstanding performance, even in the most complex and high-security environments.
